The 6G-TWIN consortium came together in Dublin on 7–8 September for its latest General Assembly, hosted by VIAVI Solutions. As the project enters its final phase, the meeting provided an important opportunity to review progress, advance the project’s two use cases, and reflect on how the results of 6G-TWIN can create lasting impact beyond the end of the project.

Progressing the two use cases

Partners reviewed the latest developments of the mobility and energy-efficiency use cases, two key areas for demonstrating the potential of Network Digital Twins in future 6G networks. Discussions focused on the progress achieved so far, the integration of the different project components and the remaining steps towards the final validation and demonstration of the use cases.

From technical results to future impact

The General Assembly also included a dedicated workshop facilitated by Firecell (formerly Accelleran) and R2M Solution, bringing partners together to discuss the technical and socio-economic impact of 6G-TWIN. The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for open brainstorming around the results achieved to date, their relevance to different stakeholders and how they can be further promoted and communicated. With the project approaching its conclusion, particular attention was given to preparing opportunities for post-project exploitation and ensuring that the work of the consortium can continue to generate impact beyond the project lifetime.

Looking ahead

The Dublin meeting marked another important milestone for 6G-TWIN as the consortium moves towards the final stage of the project. Partners will now focus on consolidating the technical results, showcasing the use cases and preparing the project’s outcomes for wider dissemination and exploitation.

The next major milestone will be the 6G-TWIN final event in Luxembourg in December, held in conjunction with the Sustainable Places conference. The event will be an opportunity to present the project’s key achievements, share lessons learned and look ahead to the future of the results developed within 6G-TWIN.
