6G-TWIN is pleased to announce the release of a new scientific publication by researchers from our coordinating organisation, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST): “Integration and Validation of 3GPP TR 38.811 Aligned GEO NTN-TDL Channel Models in OpenAirInterface5G”

The paper presents the integration of standardised 3GPP TR 38.811 Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) tapped-delay-line channel models into the OpenAirInterface5G RF simulator. The work enables reproducible end-to-end 5G-NTN experiments under representative geostationary satellite channel conditions, including different elevation angles and line-of-sight/non-line-of-sight scenarios.

The research contributes to the 6G-TWIN objective of developing advanced, reproducible environments for modelling, simulation and validation of future network technologies, supporting the development and evaluation of Network Digital Twins for 6G systems. The authors’ version is now available on Zenodo. The final published version will subsequently appear in IEEE Xplore.

Presentation at IEEE FNWF 2026

The paper will be presented by Sumit Kumar (LIST) at the 2026 IEEE Future Networks World Forum (FNWF 2026), taking place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 26 to 28 October 2026.

The theme of the conference is “Self-Evolving Networks for the Whole World: Delivering Trustworthy AI-Native, Sustainable Operations, and Post-Quantum Security”.

By integrating cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, next-generation networks will evolve into AI-native, self-evolving infrastructures capable of autonomously optimizing performance, ensuring trustworthy operations, and supporting sustainable and resilient connectivity. These networks will enable a highly interconnected, intelligent, and responsive ecosystem while addressing emerging challenges such as security in the post-quantum era. The conference will provide an opportunity for researchers to explore and discuss innovative solutions shaping a sustainable, trustworthy, and intelligent networking future.
