Our 6G-TWIN project recently made its mark at the FYUZ24 event, a global gathering for innovators in next-generation telecommunications networks. Our project’s vision was highlighted during several panel discussions, showcasing its role in advancing digital twin (DT) technologies and energy-efficient solutions for future networks.
A Collaborative Effort
The panels at FYUZ24 underscored the collaborative spirit driving innovations in next-generation networks. From exploring AI-readiness to improving energy efficiency, 6G-TWIN remains at the forefront of defining how digital twin technologies can revolutionise 6G systems:
Chris Murphy from VIAVI Solutions described how the TIP (Telecom Infra Project) ARIANE vanguard project has played an important role to underscore the value of disruptions such as digital twin for facilitating the development of network intelligence apps for the RAN Intelligent Controller, and how this is inspiring other projects including 6G-TWIN. 6G-TWIN is building on this important foundational work by TIP, defining the architectures for digital twin to integrate into the operational network and developing the technology enablers for digital twin to deliver a more performant and efficient to the network. 6G-TWIN will then build proofs of concept to refine and showcase this value in teleoperated driving and energy saving use cases.
Paola Soto Arenas from IMEC contributed in a panel discussion on future networks and AI adoption: ”Future Networks: Are We Ready for the AI #Tsunami ?”. She emphasized how digital twins can accelerate AI deployment in production networks by enabling testing prior to deployment. The panel explored key challenges and opportunities in preparing networks for the AI-driven era, with 6G-TWIN paving the way to integrating digital twins into operational systems.
