6G-TWIN was represented at the recent Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2026, held in Barcelona, Spain (2-5 March).
The project was showcased through the exhibition booths of consortium partners VIAVI Solutions and Accelleran. Representatives from LIST, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (6G-TWIN project coordinator) and UBIWHERE were present on site, contributing to project dissemination and engagement with stakeholders from industry, academia, and the broader innovation ecosystem.

At the respective booths, the project was presented in the context of ongoing developments in advanced network validation, intelligent and open network architectures, and digital transformation approaches relevant to future 6G systems. The demonstrations highlighted the relevance of digital twin methodologies for experimentation, integration, and evaluation of emerging network enablers.
n addition, 6G-TWIN was referenced in the session organised by the European Commission and the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU), which opened Mobile World Congress with a forward-looking discussion on 6G, cloud, edge computing, artificial intelligence, and advanced connectivity.

The session addressed the convergence of AI, cloud and edge technologies as a foundational “technology stack” for future networks, highlighting the transition from strategic vision to implementation through experimental networks, testbeds, and cross-industry pilots. Discussions also covered the role of advanced connectivity in strengthening Europe’s industrial competitiveness, resilience, and technological leadership, as well as the importance of public–private collaboration in accelerating innovation and value creation.

Participation in MWC Barcelona provided an opportunity to increase visibility of the project within the international mobile ecosystem and to support continued dialogue with relevant stakeholders.
